Our aim is to provide HIV orphans and disadvantaged children in Zimbabwe with an opportunity for an education. Many of these children are cared for by grandparents or other family members who struggle to find the money for the school fees.
By doing this we hope to fulfil their aspirations and dreams for the future without the worry of fees and other financial difficulties. Founder, Anna Mudeka, started supporting 10 children at her old school, Rugare Primary School, in 2005. In September 2011 The Mudeka Foundation became a registered charity as the numbers of children supported started to expand.
In 2015 we are supporting 50 children in three Primary schools and two High schools surrounding Harare, Zimbabwe. We have developed a ZIPS (Zimbabwe Individual Pupil Sponsor) Programme which enables individuals in the UK to sponsor a child for a maximum of 3 years from any of the schools we work with.
This year, the foundation has also entered stage 3 of The Muda Building Project with international support from individuals and businesses. This is an on going project to provide two new classrooms and two offices for Muda High School. Read more about The Muda Project.
A feeding program has also been established at Muda Primary School with help from Trowse Primary School, Barnham Broom and Upper Yare Churches and Private sponsorship for which we are very grateful.
Find out more information about the Feeding Programme on our Schools & Children page.
One of the many reasons our work is rewarding:
The letter below gives us the drive we need to carry out the work we do.
Perhaps you would like to donate?
If you’re interested in donating. Thank you!
It costs as little as 15p per day to send a child to Primary school so every little helps. If you would like more information on how you could help a child get an education please visit our ZIPS page.
For a one off donation please use our Paypal donation button on the right hand side of the page.
If you would like to make a regular donation, you can fill in a Standing Order Form and return to the address provided.
Whether you are about to make a donation or have made a donation in the past 4 years. Please make sure you fill in our Gift Aid Declaration Form. This allows your kind donation to go that little bit further.
Like to help but don’t have the finances?
There are three other ways you can help:
1. Volunteer your time. We have an active fundraising committee and are very open to people helping us to raise as much money as possible. We are currently raising funds for The Muda Project and any help would be gratefully received. If you think you could help, please contact us.
2. Do you like to shop online? Every heard of Easy Fundraising? It’s a great website that gives a little bit of money to our charity every time you buy something online. It doesn’t cost you any extra. All you need to do is create an account and install the tool bar on your desk top. Every time you buy something online from a website that supports easy fundraising, it will remind you to do it through the Easy fundraising website and send us a few pennies. Simple. If you’d like to sign up you can do so here.
3. You can tell people about us. Just talk to people about the work we are doing and spread the word. It’s a great way to encourage people to come to our fundraising events and talks.
